Reactec continue their roadmap of system improvements and enhancement. Our latest release to the Reactec Analytics software and device firmware has the following improvements which we believe may be of benefit to you.
Proximity Warning Systems:
Your devices will need to upgrade to following versions of firmware:
- Gateway – Firmware v2.2.3
- Watch – Firmware v1.5.5
- Beacon – Firmware v1.2.11
New and Improved features which will be available with the November firmware update include:
- Request Access On-Demand: When a pedestrian/worker needs access from a driver / machine controller they need to initiate the request by pressing a button. This change reduces the number of times a driver is interrupted to grant access when the pedestrian was simply breaching an exclusion zone and needs to leave.
- In Auto-pair to single Beacon mode, pairing range increased to 1.8 meters: This will make it easier for drivers/ machine controllers of smaller equipment to successfully pair with the Beacon on their equipment.
- In Pair to multiple Beacons mode, pairing range increased to 5 meters: This will make it easier for drivers/ machine controllers of larger equipment to successfully pair with all the Beacons on their equipment.
- Standby Mode for Beacons: The standby mode will help you avoid false records when moving battery powered Beacons out to the point where they need to be installed /mounted. You can switch a Beacon which is ON to standby mode by two short presses of the power button. You can turn it back ON by long pressing the power button (more than 5 seconds). The benefit of using standby mode is that you would NOT need to connect the Beacon to power to turn it ON.
- Pairing with external Beacons: If you hire plant/equipment fitted with Reactec beacons, your own drivers/ machine controllers will be able to pair to these beacons.
ACTION REQUIRED:
Since this release involves proximity warning amendments it is important that all your hardware: gateways, watches and beacons are left powered on within range of a gateway overnight to receive the upgrade.
