A better way to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders
Musculoskeletal disorders can include a range of conditions such as arthritis, inflammatory diseases, and Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS). Many of these conditions are cumulative, meaning they occur slowly over time, making them particularly difficult to identify and prevent.
Vibrating tools and equipment can contribute significantly to workplace MSDs, which is why it’s so important to accurately measure the amount of vibration that your workers are exposed to while they’re on the job. By taking the guesswork out of your approach to risk management, you’ll be in the best position to keep your team healthy and safe.
Better data, better decisions
Reactec’s ecosystem of workplace wearable technology is purpose-built to provide teams with the insight they need to make better, more informed decisions about their working environment. Powered by super-secure cloud-based analytics, the R-Link smart watch provides you with personalized, real-time data that you can use to create safer, healthier workplaces.
CDC Recommended Intervention Strategy
To address WMSDs, the CDC recommends an intervention strategy that follows a three-tier
hierarchy of controls.
- Implement engineering controls and adopt a more ergonomic approach at worksites.
- Implement administrative controls that minimize and mitigate the impact of working
conditions known to cause MSDs. - Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is functioning properly and being used
correctly.

Effectively, efficiently apply your intervention strategy for hand and arm-related MSDs using
cutting-edge technology
- Design effective engineering controls using actual exposure data and advanced analysis
of workers’ real-world exposure to vibration. - Directly control your workers’ exposure levels with personalized, real-time monitoring
that alerts to unsafe levels of exposure to vibration. - Standard PPE is not fully effective at protecting workers’ from the type of vibration which
is most damaging. Ensure that your strategy is not reliant on this lowest level of control.

Our approach to MSD prevention
An ecosystem of robust wearable technology and cloud-based analytics takes the guesswork out of MSD preventionWhat is a work-related musculoskeletal disorder?
Musculoskeletal Disorders - What are they, what is their impact, and how can you take steps to prevent them on your team?
Adopting an Ergonomic Strategy for HAVS Prevention
The CDC recommends an ergonomic approach for preventing musculoskeletal disorders, such as those caused by exposure to hand and arm vibration. But what does that mean for your team on the ground?
Take control with personalized, real-time monitoring
R-Link supports a data-driven approach that’s proven to help teams prevent musculoskeletal disorders, like HAVS. Workers are alerted when they approach or exceed personal exposure thresholds, making it possible to directly control exposure in real-time. Powerful analytics provide you with a 360-degree view of your workplace risk environment, and make it easy for you to adjust worker behavior and refine controls in ways that will make an immediate impact on worker health and safety.
A trusted system for improving worker and organizational health & safety
Teams around the world rely on Reactec’s industry-defining ecosystem of hardware and analytics to power better decision making every day.

Peace of mind that fits on your wrist
The R-Link smart watch is the most powerful and sophisticated wearable technology for monitoring exposure to risk at work. Unlike manufacturer’s estimated vibration values, which often underestimate the human response to vibration, R-Link’s core technology is scientifically proven to quantify exposure in a way that actually correlates with the human response.
With functionality designed to accurately, reliably measure workers’ exposure to risk from vibration, R-Link is in a class of its own when it comes to simple and sophisticated workplace risk management.
